I will be traveing from the US to Malaga Spain and then to Morroco. Any advice/money saving travel tips?

Vacationing in Spain asked:

I have a 20 day vacation starting
February 2, 2006. I’m looking to travel to Coasta Del Sol for the first part of the trip and then travel elsewhere. I’m debating whether to go to Barelona or Morrocco…not sure how warm Barcelona is this time of year.

Any advice. Money saving tips for either destination would be appreciated.

First of all, don’t get the euros here, wait till you arrive to Spain to have your dollars change (the rates are much better there)Anyway you ussually can pay with dollars there but I don’t recommend that. Second, if you have to choose between Barcelona (or other place in Spain) and Morocco, no doubt, Barcelona, it’s pretty warm (around 70-80) and safer than Morocco (more if you are an US citizen). I would recommend you to go visit other cities of the south of Spain like Granada or Cordoba, I’m sure you’d love them. And of course Madrid.
The money saving tips, use public transportation (it’s really good)and try not to look like a lost turist ;)

Definitely Barcelona over Morocco if you haven’t been to either–even though Morocco is cheaper. Especially if you are travelling alone. I went to Tangier and it’s been one of the few places where I felt constantly on guard.
