Planning a vacation in Florida ?

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Are you thinking of taking a vacation in Florida ?  Should you stay in a hotel or a florida home rental ? Are you are looking for all the conveniences of home but with all the services provided by a good standard hotel?

Well it really is conceivable by renting Florida home rentals.   There are plenty homes that you can stay in that will provide everything you are looking for . Next time you are planning a vacation, please take a look at all the wonderful homes that are available to rent.  We spent quite a few years staying in hotels, and then one year we hired a Cheap Florida villa.  We have never stayed in a hotel again. To my family, this is the only way to have a fantastic holiday.  You really do get the best of both worlds.

There are many diffent styles of  florida home rental in many locations in and most the Disney area.  They vary in size from 1 bedroom condo’s (sleeping 2) up to 7 bedroom villas (sleeping up to 16).  Most villas will have a private pool, some will have a spa and/or a games room.  Some also look out over open spaces or golf courses.  It really does depend on what you personally are looking for, but rest assured all will have the creature comforts that a hotel cannot hope to provide, and surprisingly at a very fair cost.
Like my wife and I some years ago, I am sure you will be thinking that these vacation homes  will cost an extortionate amount of money and they are only for the rich.  Not so.  Most rental homes are priced very reasonable and most families will be able to afford them.  If you look closely at the prices, you will find that they are in fact very reasonably priced compare to a good quality hotel.

Most vacation rentals can accommodate a variety of people, not just single families but groups of friends and relatives.  They have king bedded suite, double rooms, twin and single rooms, all just waiting for you to come along and have your dream vacation.
The best part though is really splitting the cost down by person to arrive at what you will find is great value.  Some homes can cost as small as $10 per person per day.  For example, in low season, a four bedroom florida vacation home sleeping up to 10 will cost around $700 per week including pool heating.  That is $100 per day, equaling just under $10 per person.  A good quality hotel room for 4 will cost around $60 per night, equal to $420 per week.  As there are 10 of you, you will need 3 rooms making a total of $1260 – OVER twice the price of a Cheap Florida villa.

We have all  heard of the expression “location ,location, location”.  Well, you will often find that in a hotel, that “location” will mean close to a major road or intersection as this brings in the most income for the hotel. This is fine until it is time to “turn in” at night and then you are kept awake by all the traffic noise from exterior.
One of the best things about Florida homes to rent is that they are nearly always set in peaceful suburbs  (Disney, Sea World, Universal Studios etc), Our own home is located in a “dead end”  with minimal traffic and is hence ideal for families with smaller children.  In many cases they will be in beautifully landscaped, resort hotel style communities that may even have a view or a lake or conservation view.  If you are a family that likes these communal developments, they can range from very quiet and unsophisticated community lounges through to fully furnished lifestyle resorts with large communal swimming pools, man made beaches, fully equipped gyms, spa, cinema, children’s play areas.

Most Florida vacation homes will have a very high level of facilities including private pool, large well-fixed living areas, dining areas, fully equipped kitchen, garage, televisions, dvd player, laundry facilities, cyberspace entree etc. One of the best parts about booking villas is that within a few hours, you feel just like you are a home.  You begin to unwind and then your vacation really starts.  After a tiring but enjoyable day in the parks, come home, go for a dip in your own pool, get a beer from fridge (or make a coffee), then curl up on the sofa to watch a favourite dvd.  You can really escape from it all.

If you haven’t yet tried this choice to a hotel, then please give it a try.  We can assure that you will not be disappointed. Most villasYou will have the vacation of a  will give you the vacation of your lifetime without having to share it with hundreds of other holidaymakers sharing the hotel.  You have vacation home all to yourself.

Credit Card Miles Set You Up For Free Flights

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Credit card miles were introduced by credit card companies for the use of frequent airline travel users. Issuers of credit cards are always looking for the edge and incentives to provide for new customers and by combining airline miles incentives with a credit card avid travelers can now take advantage of this card.

The credit card miles are beneficial for those who have to spend from their own income for purchasing flight tickets. Based on how many points you accumulate or how many dollars you spend you can receive miles on your account. With each dollar or two spent you can get an airline mile to use for airline tickets.

If a passenger has credit card mile features, bonus miles are credited for each and every purchase. In fact, one can begin to accumulate mileage points before even traveling for the first time, since credit points are added with every airline ticket purchase. Profits for airline companies come with slim margins and mass sales. Credit card companies come out with different promotional schemes every other month to attract frequent fliers.

Keep in mind that the credit card miles program only covers the cost of the airline ticket. Any charges that are levied by the airline company are not covered but it all depends on the airline company. If the credit card does have a credit card miles program it is only for a single airline company. You cannot use the same airline card for different airlines. In some cases the airline may not have flights to certain destination. If that happens you may need to buy the ticket instead of being able to use your frequent flier miles.

Credit Card Miles: There Are Drawbacks

Like everything that has its disadvantages and credit card miles are no different.

The first drawback is that there are blackout dates for flights. It all depends on the credit card but a good amount of credit card miles programs disallow specific travel dates. It would be wise to check the program before you apply because they vary.

You will also need to check the interest rate on the card because depending on the airline card, it may have a higher interest / APR. Some of these programs also have annual credit card fees so it would be best to check.

Even with slightly higher interest charges and/or an annual fee on the credit card consumers that love to travel may still come out ahead.

Trading In Your Credit Card Miles

Over time you will rack up miles. Check your statement for how many miles you have to trade them in for free flights. The price for each flight is the number of miles from one destination to another. Just trade them in to receive the flight. If you’d like to travel to Seattle and it is 890 miles then you will need that same amount to trade for the flight.

In any case, the cost of tickets purchased with credit card miles is lot less than the usual cost of tickets. Check with airlines and credit card companies offer credit card miles. Compare the terms and conditions to reep the most benefit and you’ll be on your next free flight in no time.

What is the best travel guide in your opinion?

Sunday, July 18th, 2010
Mare Bear asked:

I’ve traveled all over and relied mostly on Lonely Planet; but a few years ago, in New York, I walked 2 miles to find a restaurant that was not there. I’ve heard of similiar experiences about Lonely Planet from others. I still trust Lonely Planet, and it is still my favorite (because all travel guides will have flaws), but what would you call best?

What Are The Top Ten Travel Destinations

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

The world has many fascinating things to offer, and putting together top ten travel destinations is pretty difficult give the geographical and cultural diversity. This article refers to the most popular locations based starting from the statistics made with international travel agencies, and according to travelers’ reviews posted on a number of web pages.

Latin America deserves a place on the list with Buenos  Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Peru as favorite destinations but the remnants of the ancient Maya and Inca civilizations, or the modern and sunny Cancun are not to be overlooked either. The cultural charge, the the entertainment diversity combined with some great weather conditions, make this part of the world become the holiday destination of millions of tourists from all over the world.

Europe deserves its good name for the great sights it offers to travelers: Paris, Rome, Venice, Spain’s Arab treasures and the misty lands of Ireland and Scotland, and these are just a few of the things that make the old continent one in the top ten travel destinations. Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza require a special mention here, as they are some of the most exotic resorts in the European part of the world.

The Egyptian Pyramids and Morocco are absolutely magnificent, and travel agencies put up thousands of touristic packages for holidays on the dark continent. One of the features of African resorts consists in the constant touristic push and an unforgettable adventure in the multitude of cultures that contrast so much in the crowded North-African cities. No matter if you visit retreats in oases or famous resorts, this part of Africa will always remain in the top ten travel destinations.

Moving further on to the distant countries of the Far East it is impossible not to notice the fascination with Nepal and the ancient Buddhist temples on the roof of the world. It is the Nepalese capital city, Kathmandu, with millennia of history that swallows most of the tourist crowds. As for the climbing of the Everest, very few courageous people dare to challenge their limits on the crests of Himalaya.

Finally, lots of great sunny islands can be included in a top ten travel destinations list: Bali, Jamaica, Crete, Hawaii and many others, which is why the list proves virtually limitless, as so are the beauties man and God created. All in all the places that you take most to the heart are those you’d also like to visit, and therefore, anyone can create a list of top ten travel destinations for a great and maybe even a cheap family vacation.
